House Mouse Identification

Common in most parts of Canada the house mouse can be 105 to 145mm in length with small beady eyes and over size ears. The house mouse is light grey in colour with an average lifespan of one year. A single female house mouse can have numerous litters of young in her lifetime.

 

Deer Mouse Identification

The deer mouse has a white underside with light brown upper body. The deer mouse also has larger ears and eyes then it cousin the house mouse. The deer mouse also has white feet and bi-coloured tail with an average lifespan of two years. One female deer mouse can have a few litters a couple times a year of young.
